School is back in session, and there’s been a shift in the air, hinting that fall is on its way in. And what better way to celebrate the new season than to seek out some fabulous September events around town!
Below are some of our top picks to help you celebrate a successful start to the new season:
Make your way to Gahagan Park in Summerville on Friday, Sept. 14 for an evening spent under the stars, enjoying a FREE viewing of the new film, Peter Rabbit. Before the movie kicks off at dusk, there will be live music, kid’s activities and food vendors onsite. All the fun begins at 5:30 p.m. All you need is a blanket, maybe some chairs, and your imagination!
Hosted at Foxbank Plantation’s very own Essentials Coffee shop, the Coffee with a Cop event is one you’ll definitely want to pop in on. From 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., the Moncks Corner Police Department will be available for coffee and conversation. This is your opportunity to meet the officers who protect our community and share your concerns or appreciation.
In recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, St. Jude is rallying the troops to host this event in 65 cities across the country. The goal? To help assist St. Jude in their quest to find cures and save children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Featuring a patient family speaker, scenic 5K route, family-friendly activities and live entertainment, this event will be a celebration of the strength of our Lowcountry community.
In the South, we love any excuse to throw a good dinner party. That’s just one of the motivations behind Middleton Place’s annual Harvest Moon dinner. Hosted on Monday, Sept. 24, the Middleton Place Restaurant will focus its Harvest Moon menu on local harvests and grains at the plantation’s onsite organic farm. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with the farmers and enjoy organic wine pairings to complement this seasonally inspired dinner.
