13th Annual Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Festival – June 2
If you’re a Lowcountry resident, this is an absolutely can’t-miss event. The highly anticipated Sweetgrass Festival celebrates the rich Gullah Geechee cultural heritage that makes our Lowcountry community so special, and it showcases the art of sweetgrass basket-making that has been around for centuries.
Enjoy a leisure afternoon of shopping and socializing at the monthly Second Sunday on King Street. It’s the perfect time to stock up on your summer favorites and it’s a great way to explore new product launches, great sales, great food and live entertainment.
Now in its 13th year, the Charleston Carifest Caribbean Carnival is a celebration of Carribean American Heritage Month. Featuring various festivities that honor the traditional Caribbean Arts, this event seeks to educate the community and promote unity within the Caribbean culture and beyond.
Offered by the Town of Moncks Corner Police Department, this summer camp is a great way for your kids to get out and explore the community. It includes activities, games, and age-appropriate lessons, demonstrations and a field trip. Free breakfast and lunch are served daily.
Ever felt like the pirate life was for you? Then you’ll definitely want to check out the Charleston Rum Festival. You’ll be able to enjoy unlimited tastings from 16 chefs while sipping 35 different life-altering cocktails. Top it all off with live entertainment from DJ Natty Heavy, and you’ve got a rum-tastic evening you won’t want to miss.
