Halloween is right around the corner from Foxbank Plantation in Moncks Corner! Which means, if you have not already started decorating your house with the spooky spirit, now is the time to do it.
Don’t have a lot of extra time on your hands? No problem. We have gathered together some of the simplest Halloween decorating ideas that will knock your socks off and save you some money in the process to enjoy all that life has to offer in the Lowcountry.
When in doubt, mummify it.
From juice boxes and pigs in a blanket to your own front door, mummy décor is by far the cheapest and quickest way to transform your house into a full-blown crypt (minus the real mummies, of course). All you will need is some white streamers or electric tape, scotch tape and a pack of googly eyes. Are you on a really tight budget? Toilet paper and a black marker will also do the trick.
Spiders, spiders, everywhere spiders.
Sure, they may not be your favorite critters, but a handful of plastic spiders can go a long way. Stick them on your walls, use them as dessert toppers or add them to your drink. Just remember where you put them at the end of the night—unless you want to be spooked later on!
Decorations that come from inside your house.
There are plenty of DIY decorating options that use common household items you may already have lying around. In the cheapest, quickest way possible, you can create spooky monster eyes, make a huge spider web, or put together some simple, festive décor that won’t scare the kiddies.
However you choose to decorate this year, we hope you and your family have fun, stay safe and above all else, stock up on some delicious Halloween treats!
