Who says that you have to go north to celebrate the fall season? Next month, you’ll have your pick of fall festivals that are right around the corner and right along the coast of South Carolina, within driving distance of your Foxbank Plantation home in Moncks Corner.
Take your pick and start planning your next fall getaway to one of these locations for a fun, seasonal treat:
Myrtle Beach – Conway Fall Festival – Oct. 1
Just because it still feels like summer, that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the same seasonal festivities as everyone else. At the Conway Fall Festival in Myrtle Beach, you can enjoy fall-inspired arts and crafts, sip and sample delicious seasonal food and drinks and enjoy live entertainment from bands such as Carolina Midnight and The Entertainers. Take a day trip or spend the whole weekend soaking in the fall festivities.
Beaufort – Beaufort Shrimp Festival – Oct. 1
Featuring up to 15 local restaurants, a 5K race and live entertainment, the only thing more exciting than the Beaufort Shrimp Festival itself is the amount of shrimp it features! Sample shrimp dishes created by top chefs and get your hands dirty at the Shrimp Heading or Shrimp Peeling competitions. After the festival, walk around Beaufort’s quaint downtown and make a weekend out of it.
Hilton Head – Burgers and Brew Festival – Oct. 1
A slider burger competition…a beer garden…a college football viewing area…the Burgers and Brew Festival in Hilton Head is a hungry man’s dream! There’s even a Kid Zone to keep the little ones occupied as you fill up on delicious meats and beer. Once you’ve had your fix, spend the rest of the weekend relaxing and biking around Hilton Head’s moss-filled streets.
Hemingway/Kingstree – Bluegrass Festival – Oct. 1
For the first time ever, Hemingway is hosting a Bluegrass Festival in honor of the new season. Complete with craft vendors and a highly anticipated chili cook-off, the entire event simple screams fall. Of course, the day would not be complete without live entertainment from local bluegrass bands such as South of K, A Deeper Shade of Blue and The Hatley Family. Afterwards, take a trip down memory lane while exploring Hemingway and Kingstree’s rich history.
