We love a good Miller Lite as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s more fun to try out the local brews of the Lowcountry! Plus, breweries typically have more fun atmospheres than a regular bar. For the most part, they’re dog- and family-friendly and have easygoing vibes. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite breweries near Moncks Corner:
Talk about cool atmospheres–Coast Brewing is on the old Naval base! It’s only about 30 minutes away from Foxbank Plantation. They’ve also canned their beers, so you can take some home! We especially enjoy their Hop Art IPA.
Located in downtown Park Circle, Commonhouse Aleworks usually has live music and food trucks to lure you to their brewery. Their Park Circle Pale Ale is also served in many local restaurants.
Not only do they have great craft beers, Holy City Brewing also has an excellent taproom menu. They consistently have a full events calendar, making them a desirable destination for a date or meet up with friends. Their Holy City Pilsner is a staple!
Rusty Bull is in North Charleston and also hosts a variety of events with interesting beers and a great taproom menu. Their trivia nights are can’t-miss! Try the Tumbling Monk for chocolate pistachio coffee goodness!
This well-known brewery is in Summerville, just a short drive from Moncks Corner. They serve up food trucks, trivia, comedy nights and live music; plus, their beer is downright delicious, especially their gose!
Ever wonder about this brewery’s unusual name? According to Snafu,” Originally U.S. military slang, SNAFU is an acronym for the sarcastic phrase “Situation Normal: All (not suitable for print) Up.” Check out their Snafu-Tang for a taste of their rebellious attitude!
Located in downtown Summerville, this brewery hosts many delicious food trucks, events and even a running group! Try their Coastal Carolina Evening coffee porter for a stout-y treat.
