After an extra long winter, there are plenty of extra special events popping up around town that give you the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful spring weather that’s (finally) taking over the Lowcountry.
Since there are so many events to choose from, we’ve taken the liberty of picking out our favorites to share with you:
Join the Moncks Corner Police Department for an evening of community and conversation at the next installment of their community outreach program. Hosted at Shannonwood, this event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and includes a complimentary dinner.
This five-day, free event highlights more than 100 national, regional and local artists and performers in a variety of mediums at the Charleston Area Convention Center. Including concerts, theater presentations, children’s programs, workshops, exhibits, and art installations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Who doesn’t love spending an evening under the stars? Grab your friends and family for a free showing of the Emoji Movie at the Regional Recreation Complex. Gates open at 6 p.m., the movie begins at dusk, and there will be plenty of food trucks on-site to round out this popular series.
If you haven’t been to Spoleto Festival USA, you have to check it out. Spoleto features 17-days worth of events showcasing established and emerging artists in more than 150 performances of opera, dance, theater, classical music and jazz.
Primarily focused on artists of the Southeast region, Piccolo Spoleto is the perfect complement to the international scope of Spoleto. This event features traditional program offerings such as visual arts exhibits, classical music, jazz, dance, theater, poetry readings, children’s activities, choral music, ethnic cultural presentations and crafts and film.
