Apple Picking
Apple picking is a classic fall activity that is Instagram-friendly and will leave you with a delicious harvest! (If you get a little overzealous, here are some great recipes from Country Living.) Check out Callaham Orchards in Belton or Windy Hill Orchard in York. They’re both about three hours away and Windy Hill serves up some scrumptious hard cider!
Fall Foliage
Jocassee Gorges, named one of the “World’s Last Great Places” by National Geographic, is a fabulous place to witness the gorgeous fall foliage of South Carolina. Head to Jumping Off Rock to see the leaves turn from green to vibrant shades of red, orange and brown. Table Rock is also a timeless choice. For directions and additional places that are off the beaten path, check out Only in Your State’s roundup.
The Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch
It may be called a pumpkin patch, but this celebrated Charleston attraction is a full-fledged fun farm. They have a corn maze, the largest jump pillow in South Carolina, a giant slide tower, petting zoo, family-friendly monster hayride, tire climb and sandpit play area, rock climbing wall, corn hole toss, goat walk, rabbit enclosure and even more if you can believe it! Don’t forget about their fright nights for a scary good time!
Bush N Vine
Bush N Vine is a real York treat! You can find pumpkins, apple cider and wagon rides, along with live music, a bounce house and food trucks! You won’t want to miss out on this fun attraction that has something for the whole family!
